Care Instructions

  • Waterproof your new shoes by using Waterproofing Spray.
  • Use shoe trees to ensure that your shoes maintain their shape.
  • Regularly use a suede brush to lift up the hairs, and remove surface dust and dirt.
  • To completely renovate your suede shoes, we recommend using a suede shampoo to thoroughly clean them. Mix 1 part Saphir Omninettoyant Cleaner with two parts water, and work the mixture into the suede using a dauber brush. Rinse off excess shampoo, and let dry for 24 hours.
  • When dry, lift up the hairs using a suede brush, and then use a pigmented spray to enrich the color and restore the luster. We recommend using the Renovating Spray. Finally, waterproof by using Waterproofing Spray.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Högalid in taupe suede made from?

The upper is soft suede, over a leather lining and a comfort insole. Every pair is handcrafted in Portugal.

How does Högalid fit?

Högalid runs true to size, so take the size you usually wear. It is built on Last #13 in F width, with extra room at the instep and heel.

Can the sole be replaced?

Högalid has a natural gum rubber sole that is cemented to the upper, so nothing on this shoe is stitched. A cobbler can replace a cemented sole, but it is not built for repeated resoling the way a welted shoe is.

How should I care for suede?

Brush with a suede brush to lift the nap and treat with a suede protector before the first wear. Keep it away from heavy rain, and use shoe trees after wear.

When does Högalid ship?

Pre-order opens on Thursday 17 September at 15:00 CEST, and every pair ships on 25 September.
