Oaxen and Alnö II, Quietly Refined

When we set out to revisit our sneakers this season, we weren't looking to start over. Both Oaxen and Alnö II had quietly earned their place in the collection over the years — Oaxen especially, as the shape that introduced sneakers to Myrqvist. The aim, instead, was to refine what sat beneath them, expand the leathers around them, and leave the silhouettes exactly as they were.

For some time, long-time customers have been asking us for additions to both models — new leathers, new suedes, colorways missing from the original runs. Alongside those conversations, our design team had been sketching a new sneaker sole: one that would sit closer to the last, carry a cleaner profile, and bring the finishing of our sneakers in line with our dress shoes. This season brings those two threads together.

The result is a quietly reworked foundation shared across both models — our new bespoke Leisure Sole, our comfort insole, and an expanded range of leathers and suedes — while Oaxen and Alnö II themselves remain the sneakers customers have come to know.

A New Foundation

Introducing the Leisure Sole

Redrawing the sole meant rethinking its proportions. The new Leisure Sole sits closer to the last and carries a sleeker profile — the tread that once ran around the toe and heel has been replaced by a smooth, flowing line, and the underside now features a new interpretation of our signature M-pattern, offering assured grip with quiet distinction.

Underfoot, our new comfort insole does the more considered work. Thoughtful cushioning and additional arch support bring ease throughout the day — the kind of refinement that is felt more than seen.

Both Alnö II and Oaxen are built on Last #14 — a standard width with additional room around the instep and toe box, designed to suit a wide range of feet.

Laceless, refined in every detail

Alnö II is our laceless sneaker — a clean, easy-wearing silhouette, lightened with discreet tonal elastics shaped into our signature M and finished with a hand-rolled heel collar for quiet refinement. A shoe to step into without thinking, built with a closer attention to every detail.

This season, Alnö II returns on the new Leisure Sole, with the signature M carried across the tread and a raised logo at the waist. Alongside our new comfort insole, the lineup has been extended with new editions in fine natural grained leather — a material we've been looking forward to introducing to the collection.

The shape that started the collection

Oaxen has been part of Myrqvist longer than almost anything we make — the shoe that introduced sneakers to our lineup, and the silhouette we've measured the others against since. It was never a shoe we wanted to redesign. What's changed sits quietly beneath: the same new Leisure Sole, the same comfort insole. What's changed around it is the range — new leathers and suedes, including the colorways long-time wearers have been asking us for since the original.

Are Returns and Exchanges free?

Items can be exchanged for free within 30 days of delivery, and returned within 14 days of delivery.

Some items cannot be exchanged or returned, including but not limited to:

  • Engraved Products
  • Made-To-Order Products
  • Shoes with signs of wear
  • Items with removed tags

* Please note that the free return policy does not apply for discounted items. For items on sale, a shipping fee of 199 SEK will be deducted from your refunded total to cover the cost of the return shipment.

How do I choose the right size?

If you have access to a smartphone and a white piece of paper, you can use our digital size recommendation tool. Simply click the "Find my size" button on our product page, and we will guide you through the process.

ALREADY HAVE A PAIR OF MYRQVIST?

If you already have a pair of well fitting Myrqvist shoes, we recommend you to choose the same size on all our models, except for our jumper boots (Abisko, Tjärnö and Gothem). These models are larger in fit, and we therefore advise you do size down half a size.

BUYING YOUR FIRST PAIR OF MYRQVIST?

If you are planning to buy your first pair of Myrqvist shoes, we recommend you to first check out our last guide, and also our size guide. You can also e-mail us at info@myrqvist.se, and let us know what shoe brands, lasts and sizes you currently wear. We will then recommend you a size accordingly.

How do I know if my shoes fit properly?

The fit that someone prefers is very subjective, but a rather snug fit from the start is generally ideal. The leather will stretch, and adapt to the shape of your feet. Make sure that you fill out your shoes completely at the widest part of your shoe, since you will get a lot of excess creasing if this area is too spacious.

You want to have a bit of excess space inside the toe box since that area won't adapt to your feet due to the hard counters in the toe cap.

Lace the shoes properly when trying your shoes. This will prevent your heels from sliding up and down. The lacing of the shoe should preferably not be fully closed, as this won't allow you to tighten the laces. The size of the opening varies from person to person, but it should be between 0.5-1.5 centimeters open.
