Sigtuna

Comfort without compromise

Sigtuna was born somewhere between Stockholm and Manhattan.

Since opening in New York, our team has found itself crossing the Atlantic more often — usually with little more than a carry-on and the shoes on our feet. Days are spent moving between terminals, meetings, lunches, and late-night plans, with most distances covered on foot.

On one such trip, our Head of Product began wondering just how comfortable a loafer could be without sacrificing even an inch of style. That question stayed with us and quietly grew into Sigtuna.

At first glance, Sigtuna looks like a classic penny loafer. That's precisely the point. The difference is hidden in the details.

Concealed beneath the penny bar, a discreet elastic allows the shoe to expand and contract with your foot throughout the day, ensuring a snug-but-flexible fit from morning departures to late plans downtown.

Inside, the shoe features a hand-finished insole crafted from soft foam and covered in supple leather — a quiet indulgence that sustains comfort through the longest of days. To bring it all together, we opted for a Blake-stitched construction, making the shoe lightweight, flexible, and comfortable right out of the box.

Simply put: Sigtuna is ready for everything from lunch at JFK’s Chelsea Lounge to ill-advised espresso martinis with Sarah from HR.

How do I choose the right size?

USE OUR SIZING TOOL

If you have access to a smartphone and a white piece of paper, you can use our digital size recommendation tool. Simply click the "Find my size" button on our product page, and we will guide you through the process.

ALREADY HAVE A PAIR OF MYRQVIST?

If you already have a pair of well fitting Myrqvist shoes, we recommend you to choose the same size on all our models, except for our jumper boots (Abisko, Tjärnö and Gothem). These models are larger in fit, and we therefore advise you do size down half a size.

BUYING YOUR FIRST PAIR OF MYRQVIST?

If you are planning to buy your first pair of Myrqvist shoes, we recommend you to first check out our last guide, and also our size guide. You can also e-mail us at info@myrqvist.se, and let us know what shoe brands, lasts and sizes you currently wear. We will then recommend you a size accordingly.

How do I know if my shoes fit properly?

The fit that someone prefers is very subjective, but a rather snug fit from the start is generally ideal. The leather will stretch, and adapt to the shape of your feet. Make sure that you fill out your shoes completely at the widest part of your shoe, since you will get a lot of excess creasing if this area is too spacious.

You want to have a bit of excess space inside the toe box since that area won't adapt to your feet due to the hard counters in the toe cap.

Lace the shoes properly when trying your shoes. This will prevent your heels from sliding up and down. The lacing of the shoe should preferably not be fully closed, as this won't allow you to tighten the laces. The size of the opening varies from person to person, but it should be between 0.5-1.5 centimeters open.
