Stensund was never meant to be a statement. It is the sneaker we reach for on an ordinary Tuesday, the one that goes with the trousers you already own, and over the past few years it has become one of the shoes we sell the most of. So when we sat down to work on a second edition, the brief was simple: keep everything that made it easy to wear, and improve what sits beneath and inside it.

The campaign is called Who are you, and the question is left open on purpose. Wear it with tailored trousers to the office or with denim on the weekend; Stensund II is made to work either way.

Then there is the lining, which deserves a paragraph of its own. Most sneakers are lined with textile. Stensund II is lined with perforated calf leather all the way through. Leather moulds to the foot and takes up moisture the way a synthetic never will, and the perforation lets the air move, so the shoe stays fresh and breathing through a long day. It is the kind of lining we would normally reserve for our dress shoes, and once you have worn it, it is hard to go back.

The rest of the work sits underfoot. Our comfort insole adds extra support under the arch and cushioning at the heel, and a brand new outsole, made exclusively for Myrqvist, carries our signature M-pattern across the tread. Above it all, the familiar silhouette stays, with an updated pattern in soft suede and sporty mesh panels, handcrafted in Portugal on Last #24 in four colourways: black, navy, taupe and dark brown.

Stensund II is on pre-order now, and every pair ships on 2 October. From early October you will also find it in our stores in Stockholm, Oslo, London and New York, should you prefer to try it on first.
